OREGON (WTVO) – Friends and family come together to remember a Maggie Rosko and her 3 year old son.
Dozens of people gathered and candle flames glowed in a vigil marking the 3rd anniversary of the mother and toddler’s tragic deaths. Maggie and her son Amos Meyer were both killed in a house fire in October 2016.
Those who knew Maggie and her son Amos say they still miss them every day and the vigil gives them a change to come together and support each other in their grief.
Earlier this month police arrested and charged Maggies ex-husband, Duane Meyer, with murder and arson for allegedly starting the fire that killed his ex wife and little boy.
The arrest brings some closure, but friends and family say they’re still in pain.
“This year potentially there may be some answers to that so I guess in that way that’s pretty much the only difference. The thing is they’re still gone, we’ve lost them and it still hurts.”,Lynn Kalnins and Megan Dettman, two of Maggie’s co-workers explain.
The man accused of killing Maggie and Amos will stay in jail. A judge denied Meyer’s recent request for a bail reduction. He’s due back in court November 18th.
