A local Rockford business has made a special donation of trees to Alpine Park to replace those damaged by the Emerald Ash Borer.

Olson Funeral Home and Cremation Services will plant 130 oak trees in Alpine Park on Thursday, in honor of their 130 years in business.

The tree planting will take place at a special ceremony in the park beginning at 9 a.m.

Thousands of trees in the Rockford Park District were damaged by the Emerald Ash Borer and had to be removed.
