Rock House Kids, a non-profit organization that helps at-risk children, announced Monday that an anonymous donor has paid off the $74,000 balance on the facility’s mortgage.

The announcement was made by Rock House Kids Executive Director Dee Lacny.

“Having a building free and clear of debt changes things,” Lacny said. “We are able to now focus more on the things that are important to the children we serve and not be concerned about setting money aside for the monthly mortgage payment.

Rock House Kids, at 1325 7th Street, provides hot meals, basic life essentials and more to more than 250 kids in Rockford, four nights a week.

The organization is funded by private donations.
