Armed Gunmen Arrested at Crusader Clinic After Altercation

Two men are in custody after two alleged gunmen confronted two other people inside Crusader Clinic.

It happened just before 11am Friday at Crusader’s Broadway facilities.  The two victims say they were confronted by the men who said they were armed.

Police investigated and found the two suspects with loaded weapons, at least one of whom is a purported gang member.  They face the following charges.

20-year-old Clevon A. Jones, Rockford

  • Unlawful Use of Weapons By a Felon
  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Street Gang Member
  • Violation of the Cannabis Control Act Possession
  • No Firearm Owner’s Identification

21-year-old Joseph Q. Smith, Rockford

  • Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon
  • Theft (Possession of Stolen Property)
  • No Firearm Owner’s Identification

Both men are being held in the Winnebago County Jail.
