Arraignment Continued in Ogle Co. Boating Death

The man prosecutors allege was driving a boat drunk when it was involved in a deadly crash appears in court.

Mark Mongan, 46, was supposed to be arraigned on charges of reckless operation of a watercraft and operating under the influence of alcohol.  The Ogle County State’s Attorney’s office says he asked for a continuance, however, and did not enter a plea.

Police say Mongan crashed his fishing boat into a pontoon boat on the Rock River last month.  The impact killed 31 year-old Megan Wells and five others were hurt in the crash.
