Alleged threats made by a 49-year-old woman led to a lockdown at Guilford High School until she could be apprehended.
Police say they were notified at around 9am of a threat made to harm individuals at Guilford. In response, the high school was placed on a ‘soft lockdown’.
Investigators identified 49-year-old Melinda Rivera as the one who made the threat, and took her into custody at around 10:30am on Felony Disorderly Conduct charges. The lockdown was also ended just after 10:30am.
While specifics about the threat and possible motive for it were not released, police say they do not believe anyone was ever in any physical danger.
