Arrests made for reckless shooting in the Town of Beloit

Two people are arrested for recklessly firing guns in the Town of Beloit.

At 10:36 a.m., the police department responded to a call of shots being fired in the area of Cleophas/Paddock, saying that suspects were firing guns from a vehicle. No one was injured in the incident, as it later appeared that the shooters were firing into the air or into an empty field.

A short time later, the suspect car was stopped by a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources officer, and Town of Beloit officers responded to assist. A handgun and and ammunition, which matched the shell casings found at the scene, were found in the car.

The driver, Brandi Vangemert, 25, of Beloit was arrested for OWI, possession of THC, and other traffic offenses.

The passenger, John Stout, 25, was arrested for 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Public Safety, Felony Possession of THC, and several counts of felony and misdemeanor bail jumping. 

Stout was also charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine, Possession of THC, and Possession of Schedule II Narcotics from an unrelated incident.
