The British love to bet on most anything, and if one British oddsmaker is correct, the odds-on favorite to be the next President of the United States is ….
Bookmakers William Hill put her odds of taking the White House at 8/11, meaning an $11 bet placed today would earn $8 should she win the election. Donald Trump is considered a 3/1 shot, Marco Rubio and Bernie Sanders are 6/1, and potential independent candidate Michael Bloomberg 16/1.
Longer shots on the Republican side include Ted Cruz (20/1), Jeb Bush (25/1), Chris Christie (66/1), and even former party nominee Mitt Romney (80/1).
William Hill notes that betting on U.S. elections can be a big deal for Brits, and that one of their clients from Cornwall already stands to win £60,000 or about $85000 should Trump win both the nomination and the Presidency.
