Governor Bruce Rauner announced Tuesday that the U.S. Small Business Administration has approved the state’s request for assistance to help people in Stephenson County recover from July’s floods.
People and businesses in Stephenson County and the surrounding impacted counties, including Winnebago, Ogle, Carroll and Jo Daviess, are eligible to apply for low-interest, long-term loans.
“This assistance will help many people and businesses begin the next phase of their recovery from this diaster,” said Governor Rauner.
A damage assessment conducted last month determined 112 homes, six businesses and one non-profit in Stephenson County sustained major damages and had uninsured losses.
