Auburn High School’s Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Course (JROTC) unit has been awarded a Gold Star Rating, the highest honor an Army JROTC can receive.

According to Col. David Draeger, senior Army instructor at Auburn, “Credit for this achievement goes to the Cadets of the Auburn Knight Battalion who received outstanding support from Auburn High School staff, administrators and Unit Cadre.”

To earn the Gold Star Rating, the Cadets of the Auburn Knight Battalion students go through an accreditation process, which relies on a review by senior ROTC evaluators.

RPS205/Auburn’s JROTC Battalion went through accreditation on March 1st with the 3rd ROTC Brigade and the Northern Illinois University Cadre.

The Honor Unit With Distinction (Gold Star) rating makes Auburn’s JROTC one of the best in the country.
