Authorities find baby belonging to missing pregnant Chicago teen

Marlen Ochoa-Uriostegui

CHICAGO, Ill. (WTVO) — A family spokeswoman says the baby of a pregnant Chicago teen has been found, although the 19-year-old is still missing.

According to WMAQ, the newborn was positively identified as the child of Marlen Ochoa, who went missing on April 23rd.

The Chicago Fire Department responded to the call of a baby in distress around 6 p.m. on April 23rd, in the 4100 block of West 77th Street. The baby was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition.

A DNA test determined that the baby was Ochoa’s, according to Cecilia Varga, the family’s spokesperson. Chicago Police have not confirmed that detail.

Ochoa was last seen leaving the Latino Youth HIgh School on April 23rd. Her car was found in the Ashburn neighborhood.

She is described as a Hispanic woman, 5’3″, weighing 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

On Wednesday, the Cook County medical examiner said an autopsy was pending on remains that were found in the same area, but said they had not been identified.
