Authorities searching for missing 5-year-old in Rock River

Crews are still searching for a 5-year-old who went missing in the Rock River Monday night.

According to KWQC, a canoe carrying an adult female and three boys went over the Steel Dam in Milan, Illinois around 6:30 p.m. on Monday. 

The woman and two boys, ages 8 and 9, were pulled from the water and were treated at a local hospital, and have been released.

The 5-year-old child is still missing.

According to Laura Petreikis with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, all of them were wearing life jackets.

As of 10:19 a.m. Tuesday, the search for the missing child was still on-going, with the help of Milan, Rock Island and Blackhawk Fire Departments.
