Janesville Police arrested a Beloit man after he was seen committing a hit and run, then later throwing beer cans out of his window as he was being pursued by police.

Thomas Iverson, 60, was arrested around 5:30 p.m. Monday after a brief, low-speed chase with police. He eventually stopped and was taken into custody.

Iverson refused field sobriety tests and was arrested for OWI. A records check showed he had four prior OWI convictions. Officers also learned that he had two open felony OWI cases, meaning if convicted on each pending case, his total number of OWI convictions would be seven.

He posted bond and was released for the most recent OWI on January 23rd. Iverson’s driving status is revoked.
