Beloit Man Arrested on Drug Charges After Fleeing Police in Janesville

A Beloit man is arrested after fleeing from police following a routine traffic stop in Janesville.

It happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Court Street and Garfield Avenue. The officer that pulled the vehicle over discovered evidence of drug use during the stop. When he requested assistance, a passenger in the car fled on foot.

A K9 was deployed to assist apprehending the suspect and he was taken into custody after a brief foot chase. He was identified as Sheadrick Williams, 27.

Williams is charged with possession of THC, cocaine and drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest.
