Police officers from Beloit managed to use a stop stick to blow the tires of a bank robbery suspect’s vehicle and take him into custody.

A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper spotted a stolen vehicle, a silver Hyundai 4-door sedan, on I-90 north of Janesville on Monday morning, and gave chase on the freeway with the assistance of the Rock County Sheriff’s Department.

Beloit police lined each exit along the route. At approximately 11:30 a.m., Sgt. Daugherty of the Beloit Police Department was able to use a stop stick south of Milwaukee Road which blew out the suspect vehicle’s tires.

The suspect ran a short distance before being apprehended. A loaded 9mm weapon was located in the vehicle.

The suspect was wanted for robbing the Old National Bank in Monona, Wisconsin.
