BELOIT, WI– Police were called to the area of Ritsher and St. Lawrence for an armed robbery just after 5pm Sunday.

The caller said a man armed with a handgun held up a woman in her car and took her purse.

The suspect then got into a brown vehicle and drove eastbound on St. Lawrence. That’s where police caught up to him and a pursuit started.

Eventually, the man got out of the car and fled, but police were able to arrest him.

With that man out of the vehicle, a passenger in the car got into the drivers seat and started driving, starting another police pursuit. Police followed him until he crashed the car in the 2000 block of St. Lawrence.

The man jumped out of the car and ran, but police also got him.

Speeds reached a maximum of 45mph during the pursuits.

Police say the second man is the only one being charged at this point–his name is Jajuan Williams, 22 years old. He is facing several charges including: felon in possession of a firearm, fleeing police, and resisting arrest.

The armed robbery incident is still under investigation.
