Belvidere holds annual Hometown Christmas Celebration

Belvidere, Ill. (WTVO) – The city of Belvidere got into the Holiday spirit with its annual Hometown Christmas Celebration on Friday.

People lined State Street for the parade.

Walkers carried glow sticks. Some people were on horses.

“There is nothing like coming to this. The people, the camaraderie. It’s just amazing. We love the horses, the parade, the floats, it is just truly amazing. It’s such a good time of the year to come,” said Belvidere resident Tonya Haltom.

Tonya added she’s been coming to the parade for the last six years and calls it the best Holiday party in the Stateline.

There was also a tree lighting at the Hub Plaza.
