The season of giving comes a bit early for Beyer Elementary School students.

All 213 elementary and preschool students attending Beyer will receive a free, brand new, winter coat today. It’s part of the 2nd annual Coats for Kids project through the FBI Chicago Citizens Academy Alumni Association.

“Beyer Elementary School is grateful for the donation of coats from FBICCAAA,” said Christine Smith, principal at Beyer Elementary. “Many of our families are financially unable to purchase warm coats for their children. This donation will allow all of our students to stay warm during the cold, winter months.”

Volunteers will be handing out the coats to students from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the school’s main lobby.
