Black History Month Celebration Events Held At Veterans Memorial Hall This Weekend

Eyewitness news reporter Walter Douglas joins Scott Lewandowski, Director of Veterans Memorial Hall, on the Eyewitness News morning show today to discuss the Black History Month Events that’s taking place at the Veterans Memorial Hall this weekend.

“African American Veterans from World War Two and Beyond”

Who: Veterans Memorial Hall

Where: 211 N. Main St. Rockford Illinois

When: Saturday February 18, 2017

1PM to 4PM

Guests will include three original Tuskegee Airmen, Rockford’s own Veterans from The Korean War, and African-American women that served in the Armed Forces during both days’ events.

Who: Veterans Memorial Hall

Where: 211 N. Main St. Rockford Illinois

When: Sunday February 19, 2017

1PM to 4PM

Guests will include three original Montford Point Marines along with local Veterans from the Vietnam War to Rockford IL.

Doors open at 12 PM with the opening ceremony scheduled for 1:00 PM. The event will conclude at 4PM with an autograph session in the library.
