Body pulled from Rock River on Monday identified as a male

A body pulled from the Rock River on Monday near Beltline Road and S. Main Street has been identified as that of a male, according to the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office.

After a lengthy recovery process Monday, which included the recovery boat capsizing, the body was recovered from the river and taken downtown for identification purposes. The only information released so far is the sex of the body.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
