‘Brovember’ Continues Fundraising Efforts Against Prostate Cancer

As we enter the month synonymous with facial hair, local non-profit ‘Brovember’ is continuing its fight against prostate cancer with several “No-Shave November” events.

Dave Armstrong, the creator of ‘Brovember,’ joined anchor Christie Nicks on the the Eyewitness News morning show on Wednesday to discuss the group’s ongoing efforts to find a cure to the disease.

Those events include:

  • November 5: ‘Brovember’ kick-off event at Rathskeller German Restaurant. Doors open at 4 p.m. with a buffet available until 7 p.m. Games and live music provided, $15 a person, $5 of that goes to the ‘Brovember’ organization.
  • November 12: Rockford Ice Hogs vs. Charlotte. Puck drop at 7 p.m. $5 of game tickets purchased through ‘Brovember’ will be donated to the organization.
  • November 25: Guinness World Record for “largest number of beards and mustaches in one place.” The record-breaking event will take place at District Bar and Grill in downtown Rockford. Doors open at 4 p.m., $10 admission goes completely to ‘Brovember.’
