(WTVO) — Robot manufacturer Boston Dynamics is about to launch its first commercial product, a quadrupedal robot named Spot.

The company has been at the forefront of artificial intelligence and robot for years, but now, the company is about to put its machines up for sale.

“We’re just doing some final tweaks to the design,” CEO Marc Raibert told The Verge. “We’ve been testing them relentlessly.”

Raibert showed off the robots at Amazon’s Re:MARS conference in Las Vegas this week.

Spot operates much like a standard drone, by using a tablet or remote control.

Although he did not disclose a price, Raibert told The Verge that the company is aiming to release up to 1,000 of the robots per year.
