Caledonia Man Arrested for Allegedly Growing Cannabis Plants

A Caledonia man is in police custody after a marijuana grow operation bust.

Dennis Klein, 54, faces charges of unlawful production of cannabis sativa plants and unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis plants.

The Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit conducted the bust at a home in the 2000 block of North Boone School Road in Caledonia on Monday. That’s where they recovered 50-200 plants, 30-500 grams of additional cannabis, a digital scale, drug paraphernalia, a shotgun and a rifle.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.

Klein remains in custody at the Boone County Jail on no bond.
