A Chicago man faces Aggravated Robbery charges after Rockford police say he held up a Mobil gas station on 11th St.

The incident happened at around 3:15pm Saturday at the Mobil at 1603 11th St.  Employees told police that the man wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans walked in, implied he was armed, and demanded cash from a cashier.  He then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

After receiving a citizen’s tip, officers from the Specialized Community Oriented Policing Enforcement team went to the Rockford Motel at 3800 11th Street and arrested 38-year-old Earnest Jackson.

Jackson is being held in the Winnebago County Jail pending his arraignment.
