The Chicago Police Department has confirmed that remains of a toddler found in an area lagoon are those of Kyrian Knox.
The 2-year-old has not been seen since mid-August, but wasn’t reported missing until September.
The toddler was in the care of a family friend prior to his disappearance. The boy’s mother said she was in the process of moving to the Chicago-area and asked a friend to watch him.
Parts of a toddler’s body were found in a lagoon in Chicago park in early September. Rockford police called Chicago police to investigate whether the body may be that of Knox. That’s when DNA was taken from the boy’s mother for testing.
