The Centers for Disease Control announced Monday the E. Coli outbreak linked to Chipotle appears to be over.

Officials say the most recent illness reported to them started on December 1st.  The source of the outbreak is still unknown.  However, the CDC said it likely came from a “common meal item or ingredient.”

Nearly 60 customers in 11 states, including Illinois, were affected by the outbreak.  Following the CDC’s announcement, Chipotle shares surged nearly five percent.  However, the fast-food chain has reported sales plummeted, due to the outbreak.
