City reports all crime is down in Rockford this year, versus 2018

According to a new report from the City of Rockford, crime in all major areas, including violent crimes, robberies and ‘shots fired’ are down compared to the same time last year.

The City of Rockford posted the report to their Facebook page Thursday morning.

According to the statistics, for the first quarter of 2019, violent crime was down 22% when compared to the first quarter of 2018.

Violent Crimes:  down 22%
2018:  445

Robbery:  down 35%
2018:  77
2019:  50

Property Crimes:  down 25%
2018:  1201
2019:  907

Aggravated Assaults:  down 16%
2018:  307
2019:  257

Shots Fired:  down 20%
2018:  105
2019:  84

Auto Thefs:  down 28%
2018:  107
2019:  77
