Con man targets local businesses, authorities say

Authorities in Wisconsin and Northern Illinois are warning local businesses of a thief targeting local businesses.

A man has been reported going to multiple places, claiming to know the owner and getting money from cashiers.

One story he allegedly uses to accomplish the theft is he and his wife have been in a serious crash and need money, usually around $150 for a tow truck. He has even produced fradulent receipts.

A survelliance photo of the suspect shows him, a white male, wearing a black cap, black jacket, and tan boots.

He’s been seen driving a silver SUV.  Anyone with information should contact the City of Beloit Police.
