Condemned House Fire Causes $40,000 in Damages Tuesday Morning

Rockford Fire officials are trying to determine what caused a vacant home catch fire Tuesday morning.

Fire crews responded just after 5:30 a.m. to the 1400 block of Post Avenue. They arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the residence, that was determined to be empty. They quickly put it out without anyone being injured.

The fire caused an estimated $40,000 in damages.
