Construction is underway on a new design and renovation of Rock Valley College’s Woodward Technology Center.
RVC recently partnered with Northern Illinois University to offer bachelor’s degree programs in engineering at Rock Valley. The Woodward Technology Center will be the home for the new partnership.
The project includes renovation of over 10,000 square feet to update existing laboratory space, 3,000 square feet of new learning labs, 2,000 square feet of new classrooms and 1,500 square feet of new office space. There will also be 2,000 square feet of additional lobby space.
The existing lobby and circulation routes will also receive a complete makeover with new finishes.
Construction is expected to be complete by August.
Officials at Rock Valley College say they hope the renovations and new engineering partnership with NIU will encourage the growth of talented engineers in the Rockford region.
