A DeKalb man serving nearly 40 years in prison for killing an NIU student in 2010 won’t get out of prison early.

A judge denied William Curl’s appeal for post-conviction relief Friday.  He pleaded guilty in 2013 to killing Antoinette “Toni” Keller, but argued that he was coerced into doing so.  Keller was a freshman at the time.

She disappeared after telling friends she was going for a walk in Prairie Park.  Police eventually found her burnt body in the park.
