The man convicted of killing his former lawyer in 2008 has been sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison.
A jury handed Richard Wanke that sentence on Tuesday. In March, Wanke was found guilty of first degree murder for the shooting death of attorney Greg Clark, who had previously represented Wanke in a robbery case.
The motive put forth by prosecutors was that Wanke was upset at how he was being represented, and became so enraged he plotted to kill Clark. Wanke was also the man behind another attempted murder of Clark two months before the shooting, also in front of Clark’s home.
Wanke has already filed an appeal of his sentence.
