An autopsy completed Friday is shedding light on the death of a two-month-old Beloit boy over the weekend.

The Rock County Coroner says Amanii Cardell Hodges, just 59 days old, died as a result of “homicidal abusive head trauma.” Amanii died at Milwaukee hospital six days after he was admitted.

The infant’s father, De’Anthony Hodges, has already been accused of killing his son. He’s officially been charged with child abuse and neglect, but prosecutors say they expect those charges to be upgraded.

The abuse allegedly happened on Monday, March 20. The infant died as a result of his injuries the following Sunday.

The death remains under investigation by Beloit Police. Additional testing and examination is also scheduled by the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department.
