Coroner: Victim of 9th Street murder died of blunt force trauma

The Winnebago County Coroner says Jennifer Lindsey, 42, died of blunt force trauma to the head, she had not been shot. 

Lindsey was killed Saturday in a home in on 9th Street near Sandy Hollow Road just after 11 a.m. Saturday morning.

Another woman, idenfied by family as her daughter, 25-year-old Katelynn Lindsey, was also suffering blunt force trauma injuries.

Initial reports suggested she was suffering from gunshot wounds, but trauma staff revised their assessment of her injuries.

Katelynn is in critical condition at a local hospital. 

Abdon Ochoa Villaneda was arrested in connection with the crime. 

Missouri police arrested him Saturday night near Kansas City after a high-speed chase.  The 37-year-old is charged with first degree murder and attempted murder.
