A charter flight carrying the Chicago Cubs from Washington, DC to Albuquerque, NM had to be diverted Thursday night due to someone on board becoming seriously ill according to tweets from Major League Baseball Networks’s Jon Morosi.

He goes on to tweet that the person who became ill was a family member, that their illness is not life-threatening, and that after a five-hour delay, the team did arrive in Los Angeles at around 11pm.

The Cubs were traveling to Los Angeles to play the Dodgers Saturday in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series after defeating the Washington Nationals 9-8 to take the Division Series by 3 games to 2 games.
