Dakota, Ottawa-Marquette postponed due to extreme heat after first quarter

OTTAWA, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — There was an abundance of scoring during the first quarter of Saturday afternoon’s matchup between the Dakota Indians and the Ottawa-Marquette Crusaders until the game was postponed due to extreme heat.

Temperatures were above 90 degrees with a heat index of up to 109 degrees.

The game was postponed after the first quarter with the score tied at 14-14.
