Today marks three years since the December 10, 2012 REACT helicopter crash that killed two Rockford Memorial nurses and the helicopter’s pilot.

The helicopter crashed in a field in Lee County. Andy Oleson, the helicopter’s pilot, and Jim Dillow and Karen Hollis, both Rockford Memorial nurses, died in the crash.

Oleson was just a week shy of retirement at the time. Dillow was a father of four. Hollis was a mother of two and very involved in education in the Rockford community.

A memorial fund was set up to support the families of the REACT crew. Contributions are accepted by the Rockford Memorial Development Foundation and provided to the families. To donate, click here.
