A woman murdered in Central Wisconsin over the weekend has ties to the Stateline.

According to the DeKalb County State’s Attorney’s Office, 30-year-old Stacia Hollinshead was shot in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin around 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Investigators are calling the murder an incident of domestic violence, and have arrested Ulisses W. Medina Espinosa in connection with Hollinshead’s death.

DeKalb County Court records show that the two were previously married, but divorced last year.

Hollinshead served as a U.S. Army Intelligence Analyst for 11 years, before graduating from the NIU College of Law.

She has worked for the DeKalb County State’s Attorney’s office since November as an Assistant State’s Attorney.

DeKalb County State’s Attorney Rick Amato released a statement on Facebook saying in part

I and all of Stacia’s collegues at the Dekalb County State’s Attorney’s office will miss her for the rest of our lives…

Hollinshead leaves behind one daughter. Charges against Medina Espinosa are expected to be filed Tuesday.
