A DeKalb County prosecutor is shot and killed in Wisconsin. Authorities say it is a case of domestic violence.
Police say 30-year-old Stacia Hollinshead was killed at a home in Beaver Dam Saturday night. She was an army veteran and started as an Assistant State’s Attorney in November.
Investigators arrested Ulisses Medina Espinoza at the scene.
One neighbor said Hollinshead’s daughter was inside the house during the shooting and is worried about what she saw.
“It just breaks my heart, my first words is that its hearbreaking, she’s going to be traumatized,” Neighbor Tammy Beekman said. “There’s no retaliation, that’s what I keep thinking about like why did it happen and is there going to be something bad happening because of this now? I don’t know why it happened.”
Beaver Dam police say they are working with the Dodge County district attorney to decide the appropriate charges against Espinoza.
Winnebago County’s State’s Attorney released a statement following Hollinshead’s death. Marilyn Hite Ross says, “We are deeply saddened by the death and loss of Assistant State’s Attorney Stacie Hollinshead. She worked as a public servant dedicated to seeking justice for victims.”
