KINGSTON, Ill. (WTVO) — 29-year-old Lucas Wood, of DeKalb, was arrested Monday morning for allegedly battering a police officer who was trying to take him into custody at a campground in Kingston.

Police say they were called to the Walcamp campground at 32653 Five Points Road around 5:38 a.m. Monday for a fight in progress. When they arrived, deputies say Wood confronted them.

Police say Wood had an Ogle County warrant out for his arrest, and were attempting to take him into custody when he battered the deputies.

Wood was arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer and was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained in the original fight, according to police.
