A man is arrested after using a stolen cell phone to order a pizza, then steal the pizza and the delivery driver’s cash.
The incident happened on Sunday in the 800 block of Kimberly Drive. When the delivery driver arrived at that location, he was robbed at gunpoint.
On Tuesday, DeKalb Police contacted the owner of the cell phone that placed the pizza order. They learned that the cell phone had been stolen from the owner in late November.
Later that day, police pulled over a vehicle for speeding in the 600 block of Annie Glidden Road. The passenger in that vehicle was found to be in possession of the stolen cell phone. They also had discarded a handgun amid being pulled over by police.
That passenger, Reginald Washington, 23, of DeKalb, was placed under arrest and charged with armed robbery, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
