Two Rockford museums teamed up on Saturday to let kids celebrate Easter a day early.
The Discovery Center teamed up with the Burpee Museum of Natural History to host the annual Egg Hunt Extravaganza. The egg hunt brought Easter themed fun to attendees, along with arts and crafts.
Organizers of the annual event say the it’s just part of their mission to provide fun to the Rockford area.
“What we want to do is serve our community,” said Mike Rathburn, Assistant Director of the Discovery Center. “And so, events like [these] where we can bring the community in and let people paly and have fun together, that is what our mission is. So, for all of us, that makes us feel really good.”
Rathburn says that despite Saturday’s colder weather, the inside egg hunts were a success, with more people attending this year than in previous years.
