DONATION REQUEST: What the Family of Roscoe’s Fatal Fire Victims Needs from Stateliners

Stateliners continue to show their generosity after a fire in Roscoe claimed the lives of a father and his son.

In just two days, nearly 600 people have raised more than $41-thousand for the Bekielewski family using GoFundMe. Click here for a link to donate. However, organizers of the page are now asking for some basic essentials for the family. Here is what they posted on their page:

If you would like to help the family, donation locations have been set up at the Pacemaker stores in    Poplar Grove and in Belvidere as well as Bush Gardens in Belvidere and the Lodge at Rockford Speedway.

The family is asking for the following items:

Woman’s clothing – Size 10 pants, M-L shirts/sweaters
Diapers – Size 3
Baby items, including toys, food, and utensils
Hygiene products
Canned goods/Non-perishable food items

Friday’s tragic fire claimed the life of 32-year-old Alan Bekielewski and his two-year-old son, Orin.

Firefighters described the scene as “volatile” as 10 agencies worked for over an hour to get the fire under control.

Sadly, both victims died from smoke inhalation.
