Drunk driving charges for woman who caused crash on Rt. 2 trying to avoid deer

OGLE COUNTY, Ill. - A woman was arrested for a D.U.I after she swerved to avoid hitting a deer on Rt. 2 and crashed into another vehicle near the intersection of Camling Road on Thursday evening.

Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies and Byron Fire were called out at 8:18 p.m. for the two vehicle crash. It was determined that Andrea Arwood, 29, of Rockford, crossed the center line while traveling on Route 2 when trying to miss the deer.

Both Arwood and the driver of the other car were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Arwood was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and was released on a $3,000 bond.
