Local students with autism will soon have better access to getting an education.
Easterseals held a ribbon cutting at its new campus on Mitchell Road in Machesney Park Tuesday. The facility sits on 19 acres of land and currently has 92 students, but soon will be able to accommodate 130. Starting in kindergarten, the needs of each student is provided for by the academy.
“We serve children from kindergarten through age 22 and then we have a complete compliment of clinical services,” said Principal Jacque Ruch. “We provide social work services, speech and language, behavioral services, and occupational therapy, as well as specialized adapted instruction.”
Easterseals is hiring. A job fair will be held Friday from 9:30am – 2pm.
