Eight Janesville families displaced after apartment fire

Eight Janesville families have been left without homes after the apartments they lived in went up in flames Wednesday night.

A fire broke out on Morningside Drive around 8:15 p.m. on the city’s northwest side. Fire crews were able to knock down the flames within 15 minutes, and no one was hurt.

The displaced families are being helped by the American Red Cross.

There is no word yet on what caused the fire.
