A South Carolina family is begging hunters not to shoot at their adopted buck named George via social media.

Kena Lucas Funderburk posted a message on her Facebook page on Monday, saying to hunters, “Please don’t shoot the 7pt with the yellow tape around his antlers…its George!”

The family rescued George after his mother was killed by a car in 2016. Funderburk says they started leaving him outside when he was 6 months old, but he always returns home.

The Funderburk’s story has been shared more than 100,000 times in 24 hours.
