Family pet revived after close call in Woodlawn Avenue house fire

The Rockford Fire Department was able to revive a family pet that was caught in a house fire on Woodlawn Avenue late last night.

Around 10 p.m. Saturday, firefighters were called to a house in the 900 block of Woodlawn Avenue to battle a house fire.

No one was at home at the time. The fire crew was able to rescue and revive the family pet, which was suffering from smoke inhalation.

Damages to the home are estimated to be $20,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
