Federal Ruling Scales Back IL Same Day Voter Registration

A federal judge scales back same day voter registration in Illinois.

Voters will no longer be allowed to the county clerk’s office or a state board of elections office.  Originally, voters who lived in counties with at least 100,000 people could register same same day.

However, the judge ruled that’s unconstitutional.  Republicans who filed the suit said it wouldn’t be fair to smaller counties.
