Fiat Chrysler recalls 4.8 million vehicles for defective cruise control

Fiat Chrysler announced a recall of 4.8 million vehicles on Friday, due to a software glitch that could prevent drivers from deactivating cruise control.

Owners of the vehicles were warned not to use the function until they get a software upgrade from the dealer.

The automaker said no injuries or crashes are related to the recall, but it had a report of one driver with a 2017 Dodge Journey rental car who was unable to turn off cruise control.

The 2018 Jeep Cherokee involved in the recall was manufactured at the Belvidere Chrylser plant.

2014-18 Ram 2500 pickup
